Cadillac Zak Magic
He's known as a magician slash con man slash comedian slash illusionist slash trick artist who puts on a show that is intelligent, interactive & astonishing. Audiences love his high energy stage persona, his wacky brand of humor and his on-stage antics. But how did it all start? How did he become “Cadillac Zak”? Zak always had a yearning to perform in public he just wasn’t sure how to make it all happen. He needed a way to harness and focus his creative energies. At around this time, Zak was doing some construction work and things were primed to “fall in place” so to speak. After breaking all of his ribs and puncturing his lung in a freak construction accident (ok, he fell off of a house he was working on) Zak started learning card sleights to pass the time as he healed. Realizing that this was a way he could harness his creative talent and use it to perform in front of people, Zak started to build his show, slowly but surely honing his craft. Over the next several years, Zak read every magic book he could get his hands on to learn about the history and methodology of performing. The seeds for his illusionist, magic magician trick show were planted. After booking his first BIG show, he took his magical nest egg and purchased all the materials needed to fabricate his show. Zak confidently began marketing himself as "Cadillac Zak" a name given to him for the 1964 Cadillac El Dorado he drove at the time. By the end of the year, he was the talk of the town performing his illusionist magic magician trick show named "Truth and Astonishment" at schools, parties, churches, and community events. In the spring of 2006, Zak performed his first BIG publicity stunt escaping from a straitjacket while suspended upside down over 30 feet in the air. Fox news out of Austin, Texas covered the event, launching Zak's magic career. The video of this event is in the media section of this web page, it’s truly amazing, go check it out. Today, Zak performs his magician show in the Austin Texas metropolitan area entertaining people each week with his witty, comedic magic show.
